About
Building the AI Brain for the Physical World
Oso Robotics builds commercial electric outdoor equipment and the AI systems that make it autonomous. Our mission is to reduce the impact of carbon fuel emissions on the environment and the crews who work in it, while making the landscaping industry more productive and more sustainable.
Mission
Reduce emissions. Automate the outdoors. Build equipment that lasts.
Our mission is to reduce the impact of carbon fuel emissions on the environment and the crews who work in it, while making the landscaping industry more productive and more sustainable. We do that by building electric equipment that outperforms gas, and AI systems that enable machines to operate autonomously in the real world.
What we build
Electric equipment and intelligent systems.
We design industrial-grade commercial electric mowers and power units built to match, and exceed, the performance of gas. Same cut quality, same range, same durability. Without the emissions, fuel costs, or maintenance overhead.
Alongside our hardware, we’re developing the Large World Model — an AI system built for outdoor autonomy that enables machines to navigate, adapt, and operate in complex real-world environments without costly mapping or rigid programming.
The problem
Gas-powered outdoor equipment is a bigger polluter than most people realize.
Commercial landscaping equipment runs hard: five to six hours a day, five to six days a week, for months at a time. The emissions add up fast.
A typical commercial walk-behind mower emits as much pollution in one hour as driving a car 45 miles. (EPA) A standard two-stroke backpack blower generates nearly 300 times more hydrocarbon emissions than a modern pickup truck. (Edmunds/AAA) Every year, more than 17 million gallons of fuel are spilled just refueling lawn and garden equipment — more than was released in the Exxon Valdez disaster. (EPA)
We’re building the alternative.
Our pillars
Six principles that guide everything we do.
Every product decision, every design choice, every line of code comes back to these:
Innovation — We don’t iterate on the status quo. We replace it.
Autonomy & Intelligence — Systems that learn and improve in the field.
Sustainability — Built for longevity and the circular economy.
Usability — Powerful technology that crews can use from day one.
Power & Performance — All the output of gas, none of the drawbacks.
Safety & Reliability — Built for real-world conditions.
